How to install Drupal in Installatron

This tutorial assumes you already have Installatron open.

1) Go to Applications Browser.

Scroll down until you find the script in the menu.

2) Click Drupal.

3) Select Install This Application.

4) Click Next.

5) Select the domain where this script should be installed, if you have more than one.

6) Set the path.

7) Click Next.

8) Choose the version to install. Unless you need an older release, you should install the latest.

9) Click Next.

In order to install this script, you must agree to the End User License Agreement.

10) Click I Accept.

11) Choose your database settings or leave the default to automatically create and setup a database for you.

12) Click Next.

13) Enter your admin username, password and email.

14) Click Next.

15) Click Submit to install.

After a moment the script will be installed. This screen shows information about the installation.

16) Click Complete.

17) Use this link to view your newly installed software.

This tutorial assumes you’ve already logged in to Drupal

1) Click the Administer link

Now let’s learn how to manage users

2) Click the Users link here

3) Let’s add a user now…  click Add user

4) Enter a Username for the new user here

5) Then enter the new user’s Email address

6) Enter and confirm a password for the new user

7) When finished, click Create new account

8) That’s it!  A new user account has been created. Click the List link here

Here is the user we just created. From here we can edit the user, including changing their password

Or we can delete the user… which we’re going to do now

9) Select Delete the selected users

10) Then click Update

11) Click here to confirm you want to delete the account

The user we created has now been deleted

12) Click the User management link

13) Then click the Roles link

A role is a way of giving selected permissions to a group of users… which you can do from here

14) Click the User settings link

… and from here you can change many settings for the users of your site

This tutorial assumes you’ve already logged in to Drupal

1) Click the Administer link

Now let’s learn how to manage blocks

2) Then click the Blocks link

This is the Blocks management page

Blocks are boxes of content that can be arranged and displayed in certain areas of your web page

3) Click the Add block link

4) Enter the Block description here

5) Click Save block

That’s it!  The new block has been created

Now let’s edit the new block

Here we can see a list of all blocks in our website, including which ones are enabled… and which ones are currently disabled (including the New Block we just created)

6) Click here to show the new block in the left sidebar

7) When finished, click Save blocks

That’s all there is to it!

8) To delete the new block we just setup, click the delete link here

9) Click Delete to confirm

The block we created has now been deleted

How to create menus in Drupal

This tutorial assumes you’ve already logged in to Drupal

1) Click the Administer link

Now let’s learn how to create a new menu

2) Click the Menus link

3) Then click Add Menu

4) Enter a Menu Name here… it must contain all lowercase letters and have no spaces

5) Then enter the title of the new menu here

6) Click Save when ready

7) Now let’s add items to our menu

8) Enter the path this menu item links to

9) Then enter a menu link title

10) You can optionally enter a description

11) Make sure you have the proper menu selected as your parent item

12) Click Save when ready

Our new menu item has been created, which you can see here

13) Let’s repeat the process and add a second menu item

There it is!

In order for the new menu to show up in your website, you must create a new block for it, and configure where it should go

14) Locate the Demo Menu, and enable it by configuring its location

15) Be sure to click Save blocks to save our configuration

There it is! The new menu we just created, along with the two menu items
