How to install Gallery 2 in Installatron

This tutorial will show you how to install Gallery 2 in Installatron.

1) Go to Applications Browser.

Scroll down until you find the application in the menu on the left.

2) Select Gallery 2.

3) Click Install This Application.

4) Click Next to begin.

5) If you have multiple domains, choose the one where this script should be installed.

6) Set the path here.

7) Click Next.

8) Choose the version you want to install. You should pick the newest version unless you require an older release.

9) Click Next.

You must accept the End User License Agreement to install.

10) Click I Accept.

11) Select your database settings. Leave the default to automatically create and setup a database for you.

12) Click Next.

13) Click Submit to install.

After a moment, the software will be installed. This page will show details about the installation.

14) Click Complete.

15) Click this link to go to your new software and begin setting it up.

Here is your new software, ready to be used.

How to install an application in Installatron

Most applications in Installatron have the same basic steps for installation. Let’s see how to install a script.

1) Go to Applications Browser.

2) Click any category to view a more detailed list of software in that group.

Let’s choose a script and install it now.

Here you can see details about each script including its version number, size and licensing information.

After selecting a script, some information will be shown.

Down here at the bottom, we can see the current version number, license information, install size, and some helpful links, such as documentation and support.

3) Click the install button to begin the installation process.

4) Click Next.

5) Choose the domain where this script should be installed.

6) Enter the path where this application should be installed, if different from the default.

The Install Locations will change depending on the domain and path you enter.

7) Click Next.

8) Choose the version to be installed here.

This dropdown shows a list of all previous versions. Unless you need an earlier version, you should install the latest.

9) Click Next.

You must accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) before you can install.

10) Click I Accept.

11) Choose the database management options.

If you want to manage the database settings yourself, you will need to create a database on your server and have the database name, username and password available.

12) Select the other option to have Installatron automatically create and setup a database for you.

13) Click Next.

On this page, you can set the admin username, password and email that will be used for this installation.

14) Click Next.

15) Click Submit to start installing.

After a moment the software will be installed and this page will show up with information about the install. You may want to print the page for your records.

16) Click Complete to begin using your application.

17) Click this link to view your new site.

How to install LimeSurvey in Installatron

Let’s see how to install LimeSurvey from Installatron.

1) Click Applications Browser.

2) Scroll down until you find LimeSurvey in the list.

This page will show you more information about the script.

3) When ready, click Install This Application.

4) Click Next to begin.

5) If you have multiple domain names, select the one where this application should be installed.

6) Enter the path here.

7) Click Next.

8) Choose the version that should be installed. You should choose the latest version unless you require an older release.

9) Click Next.

You must accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) before continuing.

10) Click I Accept.

11) Set the database management settings here. Leave the default if you want Installatron to automatically create and setup a database.

12) Click Next.

13) Set the website title, admin username, password, email, and your name, then click Next.

14) Click Submit to install.

After a moment the software will be installed and a page containing information about the installation will be displayed.

15) Click Complete.

16) Use this link to view your newly installed application.

How to import an existing application into Installatron

If you’ve installed an application from another auto installer or manually, you can import it to be managed through Installatron.

1) Go to the Applications Browser.

2) Find the script in the menu on the left.

We’ll use b2evolution for this example.

3) Click Import Existing Install.

4) Click Next.

5) Choose the domain and path on your server where the script is installed.

6) Click Next.

7) Select the installed version and click Next.

For this part, you will need the application’s database name, username, and password.

8) Choose the database name from the list.

9) If the database username is different than shown, enter the right username.

10) Enter the database password.

11) Click Next.

12) Click Submit.

After a moment, the software will be imported.

13) Click Complete.

14) Click this link to view your imported installation.

Here is our newly imported install. Everything seems to be working.

How to view and edit the applications installed by Installatron

After you install an application in Installatron, you can go back and edit the details if need be.

1) Click View/Edit Details for the script you wish to edit.

At the top, we see links to the application’s website and admin panel.

This section shows a list of all known information about this script, such as the version, URL and database information.

This section shows the Application Information which was shown during installation.

2) Click Edit These Values & Files.

As you can see, only some of the options can be edited. For example, you cannot change the install ID or script type.

3) Let’s change the Title.

Note that changing some of these settings may destroy Installatron’s ability to manage the application. Options like the database settings should be left as is unless you know they have changed.

Also note that some of these options may be able to be managed within the application itself.

4) Click Save All.

Our settings have been changed.
